Who We Are

B&K Tan was started by Kraig and Brenda Boese. They own B&K Designs of Slayton, Minnesota. In 2011 B&K Designs was relocated to a new building in Slayton that was previously the only tanning salon in Slayton prior to closing. Kraig and Brenda made the decision to continue the operation of the tanning salon alongside B&K Designs to keep the salon in the community. It began as four low-pressure beds and one medium-pressure stand-up that were operated during business hours with minute packages or individual sessions for purchase.

In March 2019, Kraig and Brenda decided to relocate B&K Designs to a newly built shop outside of Slayton. This move would result in the split of the salon from B&K Designs, reopening as a separate entity, B&K Tan. They began on the journey of a complete salon remodel. The goal was to reinvent the salon into a membership-based access in which members who pay the monthly fee have access to the salon on their own schedule with a special keycard. With new technology, security, and beds, the salon flourished.

With the success of the new operation in Slayton, Kraig and Brenda decided to expand. They added a second salon in Tracy, Minnesota beginning in January 2020. With continued interest in the world of natural health, B&K Tan has added in saunas to both salons and plan to add red light therapy beds. B&K Tan now has 10+ years of experience and continues to grow in knowledge and technology in the tanning industry
